ABOUT LIVING WATERS FELLOWSHIP

Our church, Living Waters Fellowship  is an independent, non-denominational church. We are affiliated with the Independent Assemblies of God, with headquarters in Laguna Hills California. The Pastor and his family came from Minnesota in 1983. He is ordained with his home church in Minnesota and has associate papers with  Elim Fellowship of Lima, New York and with Word of Grace Ministries of. Lowville NY.

We are located in an area called Bushwick. This community has been very distressed, with all of the many problems usually associated with the urban poor and needy.

Our church was founded in 1980, with a name change in 1991. Our mission is to reach those lost in cycles of poverty in our neighborhood and to facilitate reaching the lost throughout the NYC area, as well, as the world. We presently reach out to our community through our worship and prayer services, counseling and referrals;  as well as outreach activities. These include free breakfasts, outdoor park and street meetings,  food and clothing distributions to the poor and homeless. We also have 30 children in our after school program.

Many teams from the USA, Canada, and parts of Europe have come and volunteered with us. We have been able to give the volunteers vision for urban missions and strategies. We hope that many, will develop an interest in becoming more permanent in this type of work. We also support missions financially as a church and are often involved in helping with the arrival or departure of teams, for short term trips abroad to do the same type of work.  We are presently engaged in supporting missions and orphans in the jungle in India.

We have other activities and plans, for the future; including a food bank, shelter/rehabilitation program for those with addictions, a GED program, and English as a second language program. We have plans for our present sanctuary to be a multipurpose use gym and chapel; to be used in conjunction with a sports program.
